Our client has over 15+ years of successfully operating and delivering resource sector projects in the Northwest. During this period, they have developed a loyal client base and a reputation for delivering good quality projects within time and budget. They take a unique approach with their staff seeking ways to stretch and grow their team, offering opportunities to take on new challenges and responsibilities for personal and professional growth. With a secure history and client base they are now planning the next round of growth that will take them to a $300m+ turnover business within the next 3+ years. To do this they are seeking a focused General Manager who can help them drive and guide them through this period. We are searching for an established leader with experience in growing a Mining Services construction business. The current business focuses on SMP (Structural Mechanical & Piping) projects for the mining sector. With a number of exciting acquisitions happening over the next 12 months you will be responsible for pulling these groups together to provide a "one stop shop" to clients including Electrical, Civil and associated other services. These additional businesses will fall under your remit in terms of strategy and will eventually have their own operational leads reporting through to you. In addition the expectation is that you will be able to utilise these new businesses within the group to your advantage by not having to "sub-contract" out specialist services. Along with creating and driving a sound strategy you will take the lead in building the team as the business continues to grow. You will take oversight of all General and Operational management for the group from Business Development through to tendering and delivery. This includes managing and improving systems and procedures ranging from tender selection, pre-contracts, estimating, delivery through to client management and handover. This includes strategic development and delivery of new business opportunities both with existing and new clients.
