Monart Pty Ltd is a family-owned business operating across multiple divisions (STM Studio Supplies, Stanmart Film Services, and Sports Mirrors Australia). We are looking for a reliable and detail-driven Payroll Bookkeeper / Registered BAS Agent to manage our weekly payroll, bookkeeping, and ATO compliance. Performance Space and Studio Specialist - Designer, Inventor, Podcaster & Entrepreneur This is a flexible part‑time role (1–2 days per week) ideal for someone who enjoys autonomy, streamlined processes, and contributing to a close‑knit team. About the Role The Payroll Bookkeeper / BAS Agent will be responsible for managing the company's payroll function, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing BAS / IAS, and ensuring compliance with all ATO, superannuation, and Fair Work requirements. Strong skills in Xero and experience in leveraging app integrations for automation and efficiency are essential. Previous exposure to the construction or trade / manufacturing industries is highly regarded. Key Responsibilities Payroll & HR Support Process weekly payroll through Xero for all divisions. Ensure correct application of awards, loadings, allowances, overtime, and leave entitlements. Manage employee onboarding and offboarding, including super, TFN declarations, and employee files. Ensure superannuation obligations (12% from 1 July) are met and lodged on time. Manage STP Phase 2 reporting and resolve errors promptly. Maintain accurate, up-to-date financial records across all divisions. Banking & Accounting Bank reconciliation and accounts review (weekly / monthly). Supplier invoice processing, matching and coding, including use of Xero integrations and OCR tools. Assist with debtor tracking and aged receivables reporting. Maintain asset registers where required. Compliance & Reporting Prepare and lodge BAS / IAS as a Registered BAS Agent. Review GST coding and ensure accuracy of all transactions. Assist with EOFY processes, payroll reconciliation, and reporting. Prepare reports for management as required. Systems & Process Improvements Use Xero's advanced features (tracking categories, projects, rules, repeating invoices, Hubdoc, or other OCR tools). Integrate and manage add‑on apps (booking systems, inventory / tools, payroll add‑ons, etc.). Proactively identify opportunities to streamline and automate processes. What We're Looking For Registered BAS Agent (or working under a BAS Agent with a pathway to registration). Proven experience in bookkeeping and payroll using Xero. Strong understanding of ATO compliance, BAS, GST, PAYG withholding, and superannuation. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality. Highly Desirable Experience in the construction or trade industry (understanding progress claims, job tracking, cost allocations, subcontractors, etc.). Experience with Xero Projects, timesheet tools, or other tech integrations. Knowledge of Australian employment laws and award interpretation. Why Join Monart?
