About the Role We are recruiting locum Youth Workers for a well-respected Crisis Youth Accommodation service in Darwin, for the short-term period of mid-December to mid-January. This role offers excellent penalty rates over the Christmas/New Year period – perfect for those wanting extra income while making a meaningful impact with young people. Selection Criteria Be based in Darwin. Ideally have experience in youth work, homelessness, MH, or be studying towards it. Hold a current First Aid Certificate. Hold a full driver's licence. Be available for a variety of shifts including weekends, nights & public holidays. Have a current WWCC and NPC. Role and Benefits $45 p / h base + super Penalty rates for weekends, overtime, public holidays, night shift, etc. Sleepover allowances Variety of shifts available: 4hr, 8hr, sleepover & night shifts. Work with a supportive team of Youth Workers & Case Managers, make a real difference supporting young people in crisis accommodation, and gain valuable experience in youth work and community services. Short‑term locum contract during a busy period. Key Responsibilities Support and coach young people in developing independent living skills. Build strong, respectful relationships with residents and colleagues. Assist in developing programmes and support plans for individual needs. Work collaboratively with Case Managers and Youth Workers. Maintain a safe, supportive environment for young people.
