The Role Reporting to the Leading Hand/Supervisor, your responsibilities are: Interpret engineering and detail fabrication drawings, specifications and standards Undertake and pass all necessary weld qualifications in required weld processes Perform the welding of steel components in all positions Maintain all correct consumables, feeds, amperages and pre heat in accordance with applicable weld procedures Perform welding techniques including, but not limited to, MMAW, FCAW, MIG, SAW Weld steel structures in sequence to eliminate shrinkage and distortion of steel components Remove tack welds, clean and restore weld preparations where required About You To be successful in the role you will possess the following: Australian recognised Trade Certificate Experience in tank welding Current Working Safely at Heights Certificate within 2 years Current High-Risk Licence - EWP Nationally recognised Construction Safety Awareness Card (White Card) Ability to attend and pass a 4G & 6G MMAW, MIG, SAW and FCAW Inner-shield Weld Test before mobilisation Sub-arc preferred but not essential Current Drivers Licence preferred but not essential Confined Space Certificate within 2 years preferred but not essential Ability to complete and pass a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol screen Civmec + You At Civmec, we offer an inclusive workplace built on family values, with a ‘Never Assume' culture, sustained by our experienced and supportive management team.
