Civil Drafter

Overview We have an opportunity for a Civil Drafter to join our established and growing Buildings Civil team in our South Brisbane office. Our team work on civil engineering designs for a variety of sectors across multi-disciplinary projects. This role includes Civil drafting and documentation using AutoCAD across a range of projects and sectors. Projects range from early concept design and master planning to detailed design and construction documentation. As a career progression, there is an opportunity to progress into Civil Designer work using 12D or Civil 3D software. Stantec are currently delivering some of Queensland’s largest hospital and Defence Estate projects, along with a strong pipeline of urban projects including affordable housing, education and commercial. We have a proven track record of working on some of Queensland’s greatest projects and have a strong pipeline of future work. To date Stantec have been involved in: Defence Estate Works Program Herston Quarter Re-development Technical Advisors Queensland Health Capital Expansion Projects (various new hospitals and expansions) Build to Rent (BTR) housing Housing Investment Fund advisors Parkland Revitalisation and Redevelopments Sunshine Coast Hospital Technical Advisors Community and Recreational Assets flood recovery programs Responsibilities Technical design and documentation utilizing AutoCAD. Preparing conceptual and detailed design documentation sets for projects including land subdivisions, unsealed and sealed road infrastructure, drainage and culverts, sewer & water systems as well as associated infrastructure. Completing, reviewing and validating design drawings and documentation with a high focus on quality. Interpreting civil design requirements of State Government, Local Government Authorities and private sector clients such as published standards and codes. Collaborating design with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, designers and BIM modelers. Interfacing with associated disciplines such as transport, planning, survey, traffic, electrical and landscaping. Adhering to professional standards, ethics and Stantec quality procedures. Attending site inspections and field work as opportunities arise. To be successful for this role you will need Experience in Civil AutoCAD drafting Desire to grow towards a Civil Designer role. Base level knowledge in documenting bulk earthworks, roadworks, stormwater, sewer and water network design within reference to Australian Standards and local South East QLD authority standards. A good understanding and willingness to learn and adhere to Authority application processes Strong client focus, high level of motivation and dedication and the ability to work well in a team environment.
