Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Senior AI Software Engineer to work on a high-priority, complex workflow‑automation and AI‑enabled process project. The role involves developing intelligent agent‑based workflows, graph‑based automation, and advanced hand‑off models to support back‑office finance processes (AR, bank reconciliation, and enterprise workflow redesign). The ideal candidate is a senior technologist comfortable operating across software engineering, AI/LLM integration, workflow design, and technical problem‑solving using modern Node.js and TypeScript stacks. Contract Summary Start Date: ASAP or early January Rate: Based on experience Contract Length: Through to end of June (with potential extension) Work Model: Hybrid – expected in office Tuesday and Thursday (2–3 days per week) Location: Sydney Responsibilities Develop agent-based AI workflows and graph-based decision flows for finance operations. Build and optimise intelligent automation models for AR, reconciliation, and finance processes. Implement workflow engines, orchestration layers, and agent hand-off logic. Work hands‑on with Node.js , TypeScript , and modern AI toolchains (OpenAI, Google, etc.). Collaborate with UX/UI designers and product owners to align user experience with technical capability. Troubleshoot complex technical challenges and explore new architectural approaches. Participate in coding exercises, reviews, and iterative delivery. Contribute to the design of robust, scalable workflow systems. Skills & Experience Extensive experience as a Senior Software Engineer with AI integration expertise. Strong capability building agent workflows, graph-based logic, or multi-agent systems. Proficiency in Node.js , TypeScript , and modern LLM/AI platforms (OpenAI, Google, etc.). Experience working on workflow automation or back-office finance systems highly desirable. Strong understanding of integration, system design, and scalable architecture. Ability to work autonomously, think creatively, and solve high‑complexity technical problems. Excellent communication and ability to collaborate within cross‑functional squads.
