FMCG PROJECT ENGINEER We are seeking a Project Engineer for one of the largest snacking manufacturing sites in the world based in South East of Melbourne. The successful candidate will report into the capital engineering manager, be responsible for implementing projects, leading technical development, feasibility perspectives on engineering‑related activities within the supply chain, and meeting the highest levels of quality, safety, and environmental requirements. Successful candidate will work with the company’s business and innovation processes in project management and ensure adherence to company’s standards in execution, as well as manage technical details, detailed planning, development, and execution of capital projects. Key responsibilities will include: Project work completed to high quality, on time and to budget. Installation phase contractors, work permits, HSE and quality standards management. Manage contractor resources for effective execution. Work collaboratively with all levels of the business. Identify opportunities for reward and recognition for the team. Support the team on their development and career plans. About You: Have extensive FMCG or Beveridge experience. At least 10 years industry experience (FMCG or Beveridge). Great communication skills. Processing, packaging experience (FMCG Plant). Required Specific Knowledge: (Technical) Starch molding process Batch cooking and preparations process knowledge Bulk material handling (powders & liquid) Automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) knowledge Robotics and FMCG automation initiatives Multi head weighing (MHW) & VFFS bagging Automatic case packing & palletizing systems High speed flow wrapping solutions Australian Standards knowledge IECEX & ATEX standards (hazardous dust control) Site services knowledge including compressed air, steam, Ammonia refrigeration, and glycol system Regulatory compliance knowledge Building services knowledge Sustainability knowledge within FMCG (Competencies) Mass balance / time and motion studies AutoCAD and MS office suite proficiency SAP proficiency highly desired MS office skills Capital estimations and forecasts Strong contractor management skills Leading work effectively across cross‑functional teams and influencing key stakeholders Experience with people management Strong communication (written and verbal skills) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline (Mechanical, manufacturing, chemical, process, mechatronics) An engineering degree recognized by the Engineers Australia Institute will be highly regarded Formal project management degree will be highly regarded What We Offer: Exciting contract employment with a rewarding hourly salary (above market standards) Opportunities to work on industry‑leading upgrades for one of the largest snacking companies in the world Opportunity to work on a broad range of exciting and diverse capital projects, in a collaborative FMCG environment-based SE of Melbourne To Apply: The ideal candidates will be from a similar industry and worked as an FMCG Project Engineer in their career.
