Occupational Health & Safety (Human Resources & Recruitment)Ventia are currently seeking expressions of interest for a SHEQ Manager for an upcoming project. The successful incumbent with be responsible for all aspects of Safety, Health and Environment and Quality of the Contract.The responsibilities of the position include but not limited to:Ensure effective implementation of procedures and practices which comply with Australian Standards and relevant legislation / regulations, and to ensure the Operations team is characterised by a Safe Working CultureLead the Safety and Environment Team to effectively provide effective and efficient Safety and Environmental ManagementEnsure all activities on the project are undertaken in a safe manner, and with the application of suitable frameworks and documentation in accordance with legislation and regulationsUndertake, or lead, investigations in relation to Safety related incidents or issues and provide recommendations to OperationsMaintain a ‘Safe Working Culture' on the Contract through ongoing active engagement and education of leaders and the workforceInstil a proactive can-do attitude and positive team culture within the Operations teamOversee employee rehabilitation, including Return to Work planningMaintain effective record management in relation to Safety, Health and Environment activitiesEscalate and report incidents /issues as per Ventia frameworkFoster a positive working relationship with client, and escalate/report issues as per agreed frameworkReview Safety Reporting actively identifying areas of increased incident / risk, provide solutions / recommendations to Project Manager to addressEducation and Qualifications:Tertiary Qualification in Workplace/ Occupation Health and Safety, Environmental or Quality EquivalentFormal training in incident investigationManagement Systems and Lead Auditor QualificationsHave suitable experience as a safety professional in industrial safety and possess the required technical skills and knowledge to perform the role.Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships and a positive team cultureExperience in managing safety audit programs to ensure effective system complianceAbility to implement and manage a collaborative workplace cultureSkills & Experience:Demonstrated senior leadership experience in safety / environment / quality or relevant industry roleDemonstrated understanding of contractual KPI'sDemonstrated commitment to HS&E through behaviours, visible and accountable leadership and participation in monitoring of established working practicesDetailed knowledge of SHEQ legislation, regulatory requirements and ISO standards within a utility or infrastructure project environmentAbility to develop and execute strategies to ensure compliance, minimise risk and drive continuous improvement.About Ventia:One of Australasia's largest dedicated infrastructure service providers, Ventia is a new and dynamic organisation with a rich history.
