Young Achievers Program Mentoring Coordinator

Big Brothers Big Sisters – Bentleigh East VIC Big Brothers Big Sisters Australia is seeking a dedicated Young Achievers Program (YAP) Coordinator to support young people as they transition through secondary school and into further education, training, and employment pathways. The Young Achievers Program provides one-to-one mentoring and development opportunities for young people in Years 10–12 and those entering tertiary study or specialist training. Many participants have limited adult support as they navigate these important stages, and YAP plays a crucial role in building confidence, aspiration, and future readiness. About the Role Recruit, screen, train, and support volunteer mentors. Assess young people referred to the program and ensure they receive appropriate and timely support. Match mentors and mentees and provide ongoing supervision, guidance, and monitoring. Coordinate all program activities — including workshops, events, leadership sessions, and the annual overnight camp. Maintain accurate records, reporting, and program evaluation requirements. Support with the Alumni. Promote the program through community networks, social media, and partner organisations. Contribute to continuous improvement and uphold child safety standards. About You Hold tertiary qualifications in Social Work or a related field. Understand the needs of vulnerable young people and families. Have experience in assessment, casework, and making referrals. Have experience supervising or supporting volunteers. Communicate with warmth, clarity, and professionalism. Can work independently while contributing to a collaborative team. Are willing to work occasional evenings, weekends and attend the annual overnight camp.
