About the role Join the Waste & Cleansing team as Manager Waste Services, where you'll lead the delivery of high-quality waste operations and drive service excellence across Parramatta’s diverse community. On a daily basis you will: Manage domestic, commercial, and event waste services, including illegal dumping and recycling programs Lead and support a team of professionals to meet operational goals and service standards Manage illegal dumping education and enforcement including assisting in legal proceedings when required Oversee contracts, budgets, and KPIs to ensure efficient and cost-effective waste service delivery Provide expert advice on waste compliance, enforcement, and community education initiatives Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to improve service outcomes and customer satisfaction About you You are a hands‑on leader with deep operational expertise and a commitment to delivering reliable, customer‑focused services. You will also bring: Extensive experience in waste or asset management, including contractor and workforce oversight Strong background in managing illegal dumping enforcement and compliance Proven ability to deliver environmental sustainability and community education programs High‑level communication, problem‑solving, and stakeholder engagement skills Experience leading complex projects and driving operational improvements Local Government experience (desirable) Qualifications Degree in Environmental Science, Operations Management, or a related discipline Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence What’s on offer This is a permanent opportunity. We are offering an attractive remuneration from $153,911.34 to $170,614.86 plus 12% superannuation. Participation in Council’s Motor Vehicle Scheme will be discussed with the successful applicant.
