About the Role We are seeking an experienced and strategic Director, Emissions & Gas Management to join our Australian team, based in Brisbane. This pivotal role leads the delivery of emissions abatement projects across our mining operations, ensuring approved opportunities translate into verified, sustained emissions reductions. You will work closely with site leadership teams and specialist workstreams to manage complex, cross‑functional projects that integrate technical, commercial, and safety considerations. Your ability to unite projects, people, and data will be key to achieving credible, auditable outcomes under Australia’s Safeguard Mechanism. This role is Brisbane‑based, with regular travel to our operational assets across Queensland and New South Wales. Key Responsibilities Lead delivery of emissions abatement projects from design through commissioning and operational handover. Integrate commercial, technical, and HSE inputs to align projects with mine plans and production goals. Ensure robust measurement and verification systems for credible emissions reductions. Provide accurate delivery forecasts and risk insights to inform Safeguard liability and ACCU/SMC procurement. Coordinate specialist workstreams so the Safeguard response operates as one cohesive program. About You 10+ years’ experience in gas management within mining, petroleum, or heavy industry. Proven success delivering complex, cross‑functional projects across multiple sites. Strong leadership in a matrix environment and ability to influence senior stakeholders. Deep understanding of NGER, Safeguard Mechanism, ACCU methods, and mining safety regimes in QLD and NSW. Commercial and financial acumen to guide decisions and manage risk‑value trade‑offs. Qualifications Degree in Mining, Petroleum, or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Desirable: CPEng or RPEQ; project management certification; ISO 14064 familiarity; practical experience in mine ventilation or gas management.
