Research Assistant

NeuRA has world‑class research facilities and is based at Randwick in Sydney. Overview of the Organisation Professor James McAuley is the Director of the Centre for Pain IMPACT at NeuRA. The Centre’s research combines experimental, clinical, and translational methods to develop and test new interventions for chronic pain. We are seeking a full‑time Research Assistant to support Commonwealth Government‑funded clinical trials investigating treatments for chronic pain conditions. Overview of the Role The Research Assistant will play a key role in supporting the day‑to‑day management of trials. This includes serving as the primary contact for participants, coordinating participant screening for eligibility, and liaising closely with trial clinicians, researchers, and external contractors. The role also involves managing the online database system (REDCap), ensuring protocol and safety compliance, and maintaining high standards of data quality in line with Good Clinical Practice. You will assist trial managers with recruitment strategies, help ensure deadlines are met and contribute to the smooth running of trial operations. This is a hands‑on role that requires initiative, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work flexibly within a collaborative research team.
