The Primary Care and Community Health Unit comprises nine centres that deliver health promotion, prevention, early detection, assessment, treatment and continuing care. Staff work in partnership with schools, GPs, hospitals, non‑government agencies and other organisations, offering care across centres, in people’s homes, community venues and via virtual care (telehealth). Role Overview NBMLHD invites applications for a skilled Social Worker or Psychologist to join the Integrated Violence Prevention & Response Services (IVPRS) team. The role involves providing counselling and case‑work interventions for individuals who have experienced sexual assault, contributing to the 24/7 crisis counselling service and collaborating with the Forensic Medical Unit and NSW Police to support forensic and medical examinations at Nepean Hospital. Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualifications; professional registration/membership as required for Social Worker (minimum bachelor’s degree and AASW membership) or Psychologist (four‑year degree, honours or equivalent, with full registration on the Psychology Board of Australia). Significant clinical experience with children, young people and adults, including extensive work with trauma survivors and an understanding of the effects of sexual assault and harmful sexualised behaviours in children under 10. Demonstrated specialist assessment, case management and counselling skills for complex client groups, with the ability to make independent professional judgments about case planning and clinical management. High level understanding of current policies, frameworks and legislation regarding child protection, sexual assault and problematic sexualised behaviours under 10. Understanding of the intersection between sexual assault, domestic violence and child protection in assessments and care planning. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including clinical note writing, specialist reports and presentations; strong time management and administrative organisational skills. Experience and commitment to working with Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) peoples and those from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds. Current driver’s licence and willingness to use for travel, including participation in the 24/7 crisis on‑call service and attending Nepean Hospital within one (1) hour.
