You’ll take ownership of programs, services, or operations that directly support and engage students. As part of the Student Guild team, you’ll work closely with students, University partners, and colleagues to coordinate programs that help students connect with their community, build valuable skills, and make a positive impact. You’ll bring organisation, creativity, and enthusiasm to your work – ensuring every club, event, and volunteering opportunity runs smoothly and delivers a great experience for students. Whether you’re supporting club leaders, managing volunteer activities, or contributing new ideas to strengthen engagement, you’ll play an important part in the Guild’s mission to help students thrive and create a campus community where everyone belongs. You’ll join a collaborative and passionate team that’s all about creating real impact for students. The position attracts a salary ofbetween $79,316 - $90,647 plus 12% superannuation and this is a full-time role. About the Student Guild The Griffith University Gold Coast (GUGC) Student Guild is an independent, not-for-profit student association representing and supporting more than 17,000 students. We work closely with Griffith University and community partners to create a vibrant, inclusive, and supportive campus experience. The Guild has three divisions – Student Services, Business Services, and Commercial Services – led by our Chief Executive Officer and governed by a hybrid Board of elected student representatives and external skills-based members. Our purpose is simple: to support students and enhance student life. Our vision? To create a thriving student community where every student feels they belong and are empowered for their future. This position sits within Student Services, which delivers programs and initiatives that enhance the student experience across wellbeing, student welfare, social and community events, academic support, careers and employability, sport, student clubs and societies, and volunteering. The team is dedicated to helping students feel supported, connected, and ready to thrive. Selection criteria A tertiary qualification in a related field. Experience managing clubs and/or volunteer programs. Demonstrated work experience in managing employees. Demonstrated work experience in preparing and monitoring budgets, and associated reporting. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including highly developed oral and written/electronic communication skills. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with a diverse range of individuals, including culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds. Demonstrated strong organisational skills, time management skills, a high level of attention to detail, and the ability to respond efficiently to competing demands. Experience working within the Higher Education Sector Demonstrated work experience in event planning and coordination. Relevant experience with a member-based or not-for-profit organisation with an elected governance committee structure Demonstrated competency in electronic media, including updating websites and working within a Microsoft Office environment.
