An exciting opportunity exists for a talented and passionate individual to join the Infrastructure, Planning and Major Projects Branch as a Senior Policy Adviser at the Department of Premier and Cabinet. The Infrastructure, Planning and Major Projects Branch provides advice to the Premier on a range of issues, including public transport, roads and road safety, transport infrastructure, planning, precincts development and building policy. The role will provide analysis and advice to the Premier and senior DPC executives on the Public Transport and Transport infrastructure portfolios in a dynamic and fast‑paced work environment. The work includes reviewing and assessing cabinet submissions, policy proposals, business cases and the preparation of high‑quality written advice, independently working with stakeholders and briefings on these issues. The role also involves contributing to reporting, secretarial duties and representing DPC at intergovernmental and interdepartmental forums. The Senior Policy Adviser position requires flexibility to respond quickly to rapid change, strong policy and planning capability, and the ability to collaborate and engage across the Victorian public service to deliver a varied work agenda. About You Demonstrated experience in policy analysis and co‑ordination processes to inform the development of policies and program. Excellent written communication and the ability to prepare complex briefs, letters, emails and reports using clear, concise and grammatically correct language. Highly developed influence and negotiation skills, with the ability to use direct and indirect influencing strategies to gain agreement to proposals and ideas. Highly developed interpersonal skills, with an ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and provide advice on processes and policies with a diverse range of stakeholders. A demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities with the ability to meet deadlines while working in pressured situations.
