ABOUT THE ROLE AFLNT is seeking energetic, values-driven Football Development Leads to deliver and oversee AFL programs across First Nations communities in the Northern Territory. These roles focus on using football to promote positive health, wellbeing, education and social cohesion. Football Development Leads are responsible for increasing participation, particularly for women, girls and youth, while supporting junior, youth and senior competitions. Roles are community-based and involve planning and delivering school and community AFL programs, carnivals, competitions and workforce development initiatives. Positions are based in Darwin, Alice Springs, Maningrida or Wadeye , with regular travel to surrounding remote communities. A DAY IN THE LIFE Key accountabilities include: Design, deliver and report on targeted AFL programs across First Nations communities Embed junior pathways including Auskick, Superkick, school holiday programs and male/female competitions Support local football carnivals and senior, women’s and youth competitions Deliver in-school programs and health promotion activities Facilitate coaching and umpiring accreditation courses Build strong relationships with Traditional Owners, schools, service providers, government and partners Support regional events, competitions and player pathways Lead and support a small casual workforce, including scheduling, budgeting and development Maintain accurate participation data, reporting and responsible asset management OUR IDEAL TEAM MEMBER You will bring: Strong ability to work independently, manage time and meet deadlines Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Demonstrated cultural capability and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities Willingness to work weekends, after hours and travel to remote communities (including unsealed roads, ferries and light aircraft) Experience coordinating volunteers and managing stakeholder partnerships Valid driver’s licence and NT Working with Children’s Check (Ochre Card) First Aid and Bronze Medallion (or ability to obtain) AFL Coaching Accreditation (or willingness to acquire) #J-18808-Ljbffr
