Base pay range A$129, / yr - A$142, / yr Senior Project Officer Employment Type: Ongoing Location: Sydney Region / Sydney City Grade: Clerk 9 / 10 Salary Range: $129,464 - $142,665 p.a. base salary dependent on experience, plus 12% superannuation The role is hybrid with an expected increase in office presence as per the NSW Premier's Department Circular and the DCS Flexible Working and Flexible Working Arrangement policies. This role sits within the Program Delivery team in NSW Telco Authority. About the team NSW Telco Authority is the connectivity leader for the NSW Government and is responsible for the Public Safety Network that supports frontline responders. Our Program Delivery team leads a range of infrastructure, telecommunications and technology projects that align with our Operational Communications Strategy and strategic priorities. About the role As a Senior Project Officer in the NSW Telco Authority's Program Delivery team, you will lead the delivery of infrastructure, IT and telecommunications projects that directly support critical public safety and connectivity outcomes across NSW. Working in a fast-paced and highly technical environment, you will manage project planning, stakeholder engagement, risk mitigation and budgeting. You'll also provide guidance to Project Support Officers and ensure your projects contribute to improved public safety and connectivity outcomes across NSW. What your day-to-day will look like Plan and manage projects from initiation through to completion, setting objectives, timelines and clear action steps. Provide regular updates and maintain strong communication with stakeholders, team members and vendors. Proactively identify risks and implement solutions to keep projects on track and aligned to scope and schedule. Coordinate tasks across business units, ensuring effective use of team resources and support for project milestones. Monitor budgets and performance to ensure delivery meets financial, quality, and strategic expectations. Requirements To be successful as a Senior Project Officer in this role, you will demonstrate: Strong Leadership in Complex Projects – Demonstrated capability to deliver large and complex infrastructure, telecommunications, or ICT projects to time, cost, scope, and quality requirements, with proven experience in project planning, budgeting, risk management and stakeholder engagement across complex, multi-stakeholder environments. Relationship-Building Abilities – Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure effective communication, smooth negotiations, and proactive issue resolution, keeping the project aligned with all expectations. Exceptional Organisational Skills – Organise and lead working groups and committees to facilitate information exchange and ensure timely project milestones and overall completion. Expertise in Documentation and Systems Management – Skillfully prepare and manage project documentation and leverage project management systems to track progress, identify emerging issues and support informed decision-making and comprehensive project evaluation. Customer Centricity – Contribute to a team culture of customer centricity, innovation and collaboration to ensure continuous improvement and support a positive customer experience. Essential Requirements Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline and / or equivalent experience. Desirable Requirements Experience in project delivery within the telecommunications sector, particularly in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
