THE ROLE Reporting to the Instrumentation Manager, we are looking for a technician who is motivated to learn and grow. The Instrumentation Technician provides instrumentation services including in‑house and onsite service, calibration, repair and testing of instruments and equipment, supporting air monitoring and testing and our service offering to clients. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working across both field and office environments. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES In‑house service, calibration, repair and testing of analysers and equipment. In‑house service, calibration, repair and testing of client instruments. Onsite service, calibration, repair and testing of client instruments. Collaboration of any installation and commissioning of instruments and control systems. Develop procedures to test electronic components and systems. Prepare service and calibration reports. Workshop maintenance and organisation. Support instruments, air monitoring and broader team. Assist field team with instrument maintenance and calibration as well as testing and tagging. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE A tertiary qualification (Bachelor Degree or higher) within instrumentation or electrical fields. Relevant work experience and strong knowledge or instrumentation, electronics and electricals. Understanding of the Australian regulatory environment. YOU MUST HAVE High‑level technical, practical, analytical, investigative, analysis, and problem‑solving skills and experience. Demonstrated expertise and aptitude in maintenance engineering and technical work, and sound knowledge and proficiency in the use/application of workshop practices. Solutions‑focused including troubleshooting problems within a team environment. Self‑motivation and able to work independently, however, also enjoys collaborating in a team environment. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS Have a willingness to travel (estimated at an average of five nights away per month). Able to climb 12 sets of stairs and/or climb a 30m cage ladder. Have a general level of fitness and the ability to lift loads of 25kg. Have a valid Australian drivers licence (probationary licence is acceptable). It is essential that candidates are willing to expand their knowledge of environmental testing and keep abreast of new trends and regulations in the industry.
