Overview Senior Associate - Privacy / Freedom of Information, Canberra office. The role focuses on privacy and FOI matters for Commonwealth government clients within Hall & Wilcox’s Dispute Resolution - Public Law team. Responsibilities Advise on data protection and data retention strategies. Develop privacy-compliant schemes for digital products and IT infrastructure. Prepare Privacy Impact Assessments and advise on privacy policies and privacy guidelines. Advise on FOI matters and prepare submissions to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. Act in merits and judicial review proceedings as required. About You Between 5 and 8 years of post-admission experience working in or for the public sector on Commonwealth government matters. Significant experience in privacy and FOI matters. Interest in growing the Commonwealth government practice; excellent drafting and analytical skills; strong verbal and written communication. Ability to work autonomously and as part of a collaborative team; capability to manage matters and competing timelines.
