About the Team & Role You will lead a dynamic engineering team responsible for the next‑generation payments platform powering corporate payments and expanding into additional business units. Event‑driven microservices Kubernetes Terraform/Terragrunt Kafka CI/CD and true continuous delivery AI‑assisted engineering tools As a hands‑on engineering leader, you will set technical direction, contribute code, mentor engineers, and build a strong engineering culture rooted in accountability, growth, and safety. You will partner with Product and Platform leaders to ensure outcomes are aligned, technical quality remains high, and the team continues to invest in resilience and observability. Your work will directly influence how a global financial organisation processes payments reliably and securely at massive scale. How You’ll Make an Impact Technical Leadership Write and review production C#/.NET code regularly Drive architecture, design direction, and technical roadmap Lead design sessions and solve complex distributed systems challenges Provide constructive, developmental code reviews Champion secure, responsible use of AI engineering tools People Leadership Lead through servant leadership, unblock, support, and empower Build a strong engineering culture focused on learning and accountability Mentor engineers through structured growth and feedback Enable autonomy with clear goals and guardrails Handle difficult conversations with empathy and clarity Delivery & Operations Drive reliable delivery using metrics such as lead time, MTTR, and change‑failure rate Reduce friction and tech debt to maintain team flow Own complex delivery and production issues end to end Promote resilient, observable architecture Represent the team with stakeholders and align priorities effectively Non‑Negotiable Requirements Ability to write, debug, and review production‑level C#/.NET code today Proven experience building and leading high‑performing engineering teams Ownership of architectural decisions for distributed systems Hands‑on experience with CI/CD, IaC, and modern DevOps practices Active and responsible use of AI‑assisted development tools Ability to coach engineering teams on AI tooling Experience You’ll Bring 2+ years leading software engineering teams 10+ years of professional software development experience Proven track record of building strong engineering culture Deep understanding of cloud‑native engineering and distributed systems Excellent communication and stakeholder management Experience in payments or financial systems (preferred but not mandatory) Technology You’ll Work With C#/.NET, TypeScript Kubernetes, Terraform, Terragrunt, containerisation Kafka and event streaming Angular or modern frontend frameworks CI/CD pipelines and DevOps automation Data‑intensive systems AI‑assisted engineering workflow Our Values Clients Come First – We obsess over clients and deliver outstanding experiences.
