About The Role The Research Ethics Executive Officer will provide high‑quality research administration and support within Swinburne Research. A key responsibility of this role is to deliver comprehensive committee secretariat support to the University’s various research ethics committees. The Executive Officer will offer clear advice and practical assistance to committee members, academic staff, and research students on committee processes, protocols, and ethical considerations relevant to their research activities. This position contributes to the efficient and effective management of the University’s research ethics administration. It also plays an important part in organising information workshops and training sessions, as well as supporting the ongoing improvement of procedures and processes. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with colleagues in the Research Ethics, Integrity, Governance and Biosafety (REIGB) team, as well as with staff across Swinburne Research and the wider University, to enable and strengthen the University’s research endeavours. About You To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the following key accountabilities: Well‑developed interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with a wide variety of people, to identify needs and to impart knowledge in a professional manner. Excellent organisational skills including the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines without compromising close attention to detail and accuracy. Experience in providing secretariat support for committees, including preparation of agendas and minutes. Ability to develop and use a range of problem‑solving and decision‑making skills to ensure that tasks are effectively and professionally completed, to ensure high quality customer service. Experience in human research ethics processes and guidelines. Qualifications An undergraduate degree with relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education and training.
