About The Role WSP Australia is seeking a skilled and experienced Associate Director level Electrical Engineer to join our Sydney team. You will contribute to a range of exciting projects across Transport, Aviation, Defence, Data Centre, Commercial and other sectors. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high‑profile projects, demonstrate leadership, and contribute to the continued success and growth of our business. Priority will be given to Australian citizens owing to defence security clearance requirements, but applications from non‑citizens will also be considered. Key Responsibilities Provide electrical design leadership on single and multi‑disciplinary projects across a range of sectors. Lead small to medium‑sized engineering design projects and support larger, more complex projects to ensure effective and efficient delivery. Maintain clear and consistent communication with external clients and authorities, as well as internal colleagues and managers, to ensure alignment and successful project outcomes. Deliver best practices to achieve optimal outcomes for clients, focusing on saving time and reducing costs without compromising on quality. Build solid, long‑term relationships with clients, identifying new business development opportunities and understanding their evolving needs. Contribute to the development and growth of the business unit by supporting strategic goals and initiatives aimed at enhancing overall success. Key Requirements Bachelor of Electrical Engineering. Expertise in electrical building services engineering and design documentation. Experience with High Voltage (HV) systems and substations on infrastructure projects, particularly across Defence, Transport, and Data Centre sectors. 12+ years of industry experience on Australian building services projects, ideally in a consulting environment. Well‑versed in effectively delivering multiple, concurrent projects ranging in scale and sector. Strong client relationship management and project management skills. Strong leadership, teamwork, interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills. Sound working knowledge of relevant Standards and Codes (AS/NZS 3000, NCC, etc.). Understanding of BIM, NavisWorks and Revit MEP (advantageous). Strong proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP). What We Offer Competitive salary and benefits package.
