Salary between $6,000 and $10,000 per fortnight (L13–L27). 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with loading. Generous employer contribution to superannuation. About your opportunity As a Senior Medical Officer (Rural Generalist – Anaesthetics), you will provide medical leadership and high‑quality clinical care across inpatient, outpatient, and emergency settings. This role offers the chance to work in a rural hospital environment, contribute to teaching and research, and make a meaningful impact on the health of the Hinchinbrook community. Requirements Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Medical Board of Australia. Either: Currently enrolled with the Australian General Practice Training Program or alternatives available including RVTS or Independent pathway. Fellowship of either the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine (FACRRM) or the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) is preferred. Ideally the candidate would be a Rural Generalist with: Successful completion of advanced skills training in Anaesthetics (JCCA, Dip RGA, Advanced Certification in Rural Generalist Anaesthesia) or about to complete training year (pending examination). Additional responsibilities may include working at other facilities such as Townsville University Hospital to maintain skills within anaesthesia. Class C driver's licence. Evidence of vaccination against VPDs as per Queensland Health policy. A probationary period may apply.
