About the Role We are looking for a skilled Telecommunications Field Engineer to join our team to support a major NBN contract. This role offers the opportunity to work in a permanent full-time position (Mon–Fri) with a fully equipped work vehicle and tools provided. The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills and the ability to engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds, as this role involves working within people’s homes. We will consider applicants with an electrical background who have a keenness to learn NBN technologies. Key Responsibilities Planning, installing, commissioning, and maintaining the electrical and electronic components of telecommunications and data transmission networks (including FTTP and FTTN). Installing, maintaining, repairing, and diagnosing malfunctions of telecommunications systems, including microwave, telemetry, multiplexing, and other electromagnetic wave communication systems. Configuring and integrating network and telecommunications technology with computer software, hardware, desktops, peripherals, databases, and operating systems. Determining appropriate configurations of telecommunications hardware and software to ensure desired performance of telecommunications networks. Providing technical advice and information, and monitoring the performance of complex telecommunications networks and equipment. Developing and recording troubleshooting procedures and maintaining documentation of communication policies and regulations. Qualifications & Skills Qualifications: NBN Enable card (or willingness to obtain). Aerial accreditation (fibre, copper, HFC) is highly desirable. Strong knowledge of customer cabling, testing, and capability to fault‑find within the NBN network. Outstanding customer service skills and valid driver’s licence. Ability to work effectively within a team and mentor trainees. Willingness to undergo a police check, medical, and reference checks.
