Residential Youth Support Worker

SVSM CARE PTY LTD is seeking an experienced Residential Youth Support Worker to join our team in Cairns, Queensland. This contract role will see you providing essential support and guidance to young people in our residential care facility, helping them develop the skills and confidence to live independently. What you'll be doing Provide a safe, nurturing and supportive environment for young people in residential care Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, cleaning and budgeting Facilitate recreational, educational and therapeutic programs to promote personal growth Advocate for the rights and wellbeing of young people and liaise with external support services Maintain detailed case notes and contribute to the development of care plans Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic support What we're looking for Minimum Certificate IV in Youth Work or equivalent qualification Demonstrated experience working with vulnerable young people, ideally in a residential setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport Flexible and adaptable, with the capacity to work both independently and as part of a team Excellent organisational and time management skills Commitment to upholding the rights and wellbeing of young people Valid driver’s licence and willingness to obtain a Working with Children Check Current Australian Company Number (ACN) What we offer Ongoing professional development and training Supportive team environment and regular supervision Employee assistance program and wellbeing initiatives About us SVSM CARE PTY LTD is a leading provider of community services and youth support programs in Queensland.
