Why you’ll love this role and what you’ll be doing As the Barrbunin Beek Coordinator, you will provide leadership and coordination to ensure Barrbunin Beek thrives as a welcoming and culturally respectful space. Working closely with the Barrbunin Beek Committee of Management, Council, and community partners, you’ll deliver programs and initiatives that reflect community needs and cultural priorities. You’ll drive the sustainability and growth of Barrbunin Beek by securing funding, building strong partnerships, and ensuring culturally safe and inclusive operations. Dynamic and Collaborative Environment: Work in a vibrant, community‑focused space where no two days are the same – blending strategic planning, partnership building, and on‑the‑ground engagement. Cultural Leadership Opportunity: Support the Barrbunin Beek Committee of Management to deliver its strategic vision, grow community programs, and celebrate First Nations culture. Partnership and Growth: Build strong relationships with Aboriginal organisations, community leaders, and Council to shape a sustainable future for Barrbunin Beek. Empowering Role: Lead projects that promote inclusion, access, and equity. What you’ll bring/what we are looking for: Demonstrated expertise and experience in working Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander within a community engagement, capacity building and development practice. A demonstrated ability to communicate sensitively and effectively with members of the Victorian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community. Experience in facilitating organisational change and building organisational capacity. Experience in working with Committees of Management. Well‑developed skills in program planning, implementation and evaluation of programs. Demonstrated capacity to advocate, influence, and work in partnership with stakeholders to achieve community outcomes with and on behalf of the community. Experience in and a good understanding of local government. What’s on offer A temporary (to 30 June 2027) full‑time position, salary from $98,255.03 to $106,820.88 per annum (excluding Super).
