These full‑time, fixed‑term 6 month positions offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to the modification of new and refurbished HCMT rollingstock . About the Role As a Mechanical Fitter , you will play a crucial role in delivering high‑quality modifications and ensuring the performance and reliability of our rollingstock. You will work as part of a collaborative team, applying your expertise in mechanical engineering to meet project demands. Skills & Experience Trade‑qualified: Certificate III in - Mechanical Trade (Fitter) Rail Industry Worker (RIW) card – highly desirable Prior rail industry experience – highly desirable Ability to work independently while remaining a hands‑on team player Strong organizational and task prioritization skills Flexible, resourceful, and solution‑oriented mindset Experience with LEAN or KANBAN methodologies – highly desirable Ability to interpret technical drawings Proficiency in drilling, tapping, and cutting stainless steel using powered and handheld tools Experience in removing and replacing rail components Ability to caulk and apply finishing techniques Knowledge of torque wrench usage and checks Additional certifications such as Forklift, Dogman, Crane, Working at Heights, and EWP tickets – desirable Excellent communication and teamwork skills Why Join Us?
