Volunteer Chapter Lead

Do you want to be the change that the next generation need? Do you want to set up your own chapter of Women 4 STEM in your own community? This program requires great determination and is an integral part of our organisation. Grad Girls will be the game changer for graduate students, and we need a strong leader to take the helm. Team Leadership Build, manage and lead a diverse team of individuals, supporting the program. Provide mentorship, guidance, and clear direction to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment. Conduct regular check-ins, meetings, and progress reviews to ensure all team members meet their objectives and deadlines. Program Coordination Develop and oversee the program timeline, ensuring all milestones are achieved within the nine-month duration. Liaise directly with sponsors, securing their involvement and ensuring alignment with program goals. Coordinate with venues and catering partners to secure event spaces and manage logistics. Build relationships with schools, organizations, and students to maximize participation and engagement. Oversee the organization and delivery of program webinars, workshops, and major events. Ensure that all elements of the program align with Women 4 STEM's mission and branding. Communication and Reporting Serve as the primary point of contact for sponsors, venues, catering partners, and other stakeholders. Communicate effectively with students and schools, ensuring a high level of engagement throughout the program. Provide regular updates to the COO and Women 4 STEM leadership, highlighting progress, challenges, and solutions. Work closely with Head of Marketing to make sure all campaigns and communications are ready and live on time. Prepare post-program reports to evaluate impact and identify opportunities for improvement. Skills and Attributes Proven leadership and team management experience, preferably in event management or program coordination. Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders. Problem-solving mindset and adaptability in dynamic situations. Experience working with sponsors, venues, and catering partners. Passion for empowering women and young girls in STEM. Requirements Availability to commit to the nine-month program duration. Previous experience in program management, event planning, or related fields. Familiarity with the STEM landscape and a strong interest in diversity and inclusion initiatives. Category Education & Training Commitment Regular – more than 6 months Type Of Work Business Planning, Education & Training, Fundraising & Events, Governance, Boards & Committees Time Required The first 6 weeks of this engagement will require up to 12 hours per week as the volunteer is on-boarded. From this time, it is estimated that hours per week would be required. Days worked will be up to the volunteer. The organization is very flexible. The program lead will be expected to attend all main events throughout the program, as well as some of the sponsored events.
