Work Location: Hedland Operations- Fortescue’s Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people. Roster: 8/6 days (Residential preferred – FIFO considered for the right person) We are seeking an experienced and motivated Planner/Scheduler to join our Rail Operations team. This role plays a key part in supporting safe, reliable, and efficient operations through effective maintenance planning and scheduling. You’ll be part of a close-knit, supportive team that values collaboration, adaptability, and good humour — the kind of people who get the job done and still enjoy a laugh together. Key Responsibilities Ensure all work complies with Fortescue’s safety standards, KPIs, and operational procedures. Scope, plan, and develop schedule maintenance activities to support safe and efficient execution of Rail Maintenance. Collaborate with maintenance, production, and vendor teams to ensure work priorities are clearly defined and achievable. Identify and analyse opportunities for improvement in process, reliability, and scheduling efficiency. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the team. Qualifications and Experience Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills with a calm, constructive approach under pressure. Proficiency in SAP CMMS for planning, scheduling, and data management. Background in Rail Maintenance . A solid foundation in work management processes , with several years of hands-on experience. Positive attitude and a collaborative approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement . Demonstrated analytical and data-driven mindset with a focus on process and reliability improvement. Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Teams, Outlook); MS Project desirable but not essential. (We’re not looking for a world-leading SAP expert — we have strong internal mentors.
