About the Role As a Recreation Assets Field Staff, you will: Maintain and enhance parks, gardens, sportsgrounds, and playgrounds to ensure safe and attractive public spaces. Prune, water, fertilise, and care for trees, lawns, and garden beds while controlling weeds and pests. Conduct regular safety checks on playgrounds and park equipment, addressing hazards and reporting issues. Assist with basic garden and landscape construction projects, including irrigation and drainage maintenance. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with the community and supporting team operations effectively. What You’ll Bring Practical experience in horticulture and maintenance of parks, sportsgrounds, playgrounds, and streetscapes. Skilled in the use and upkeep of lawn mowing machines, small plant equipment, and basic landscape construction. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, with self‑motivation and pride in delivering quality work. Current NSW Class LR/MR and C driver’s licences, with a commitment to WHS principles and relevant training. WH&S Certificate (White Card) Awareness and commitment to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) principles and safe work practices. Horticulture, Parks and Gardens Trade Certificate or equivalent qualification. Chainsaw accreditation and safety training, with knowledge of operating tractors and attachments.
