About The Role As an ESCC Tutor, you’ll support Aboriginal children and young people in care to thrive in their education. Using a culturally safe and trauma‑informed approach, you’ll help them re‑engage with learning, build confidence, and strengthen literacy and numeracy skills. You’ll provide one‑on‑one tutoring, work with schools on individual learning needs, and support education and cultural plans. Collaborating with the ESCC Coordinator and care team, you’ll attend Student Support Groups and help track progress to achieve positive outcomes for the young person. About You You’re passionate about helping Aboriginal young people succeed in education. You provide tailored, one‑on‑one academic support, guide schools and care teams in trauma‑informed approaches and help create culturally safe learning environments. You assist with education plans, vocational pathways, and referrals, while sourcing resources that strengthen identity and pride in culture. You collaborate with schools, carers, and case managers, attend key meetings, and contribute to program evaluation—always focused on empowering young people to thrive. Qualifications and Requirements A qualified teacher, with a minimum of 2 years classroom experience with children in primary and/or secondary schooling setting.
