Overview Job Title: Cook Assistant - Entry-Level Position About Us: Join the culinary team at Wharf One Food & Wine, located in the picturesque Darwin Waterfront Precinct with stunning views of Stokes Hill Wharf and the Darwin Harbour. We are currently seeking Cook / Kitchen Hand Assistants to join our kitchen and contribute to our commitment to providing exceptional food experiences. Position Overview You will be an integral part of our kitchen team, supporting in basic food preparation and cooking tasks. This entry-level position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the culinary field and grow within a dynamic restaurant environment. Key Responsibilities Assist in food preparation and cooking under the guidance of experienced chefs. Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen. Follow recipes and guidelines for food production. Support the kitchen team in day-to-day operations. Requirements Basic cooking experience required; training will also be provided. Basic understanding of kitchen hygiene and safety. Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team. Enthusiastic and willing to learn. Wages and What We Offer Entry-level position with opportunities for skill development. A supportive and collaborative kitchen environment. On-the-job training and mentorship from experienced chefs. Wages: based on Restaurant Industry Award 2025 Standards Permanent Part Time from L1: $24.95 per hour. Minimum 30 hours per week Full-Time: Salary based on minimum 38 hours per week. Holiday and personal leave accrued pro-rata, with salary determined by level of experience. Employment Period Employment opportunities commence on March through to Sept 2025.
