Abberfield Aged Care (Sandra Pty Ltd) is looking for a full-time Chef to work in the kitchen that services the dining areas for our residents. We are a family run business with a 140 bed aged care facility located in Sandringham Victoria. Our aged care residence offers quality care and support to those who require assistance in later years. It offers a lifestyle program, palliative care and aging in place support in accordance with the individual’s requirements. Our Chef position would be responsible for the following tasks: Preparation, presentation and delivery of food and beverages in accordance with the Food Safety Program. Contribute to menu planning to meet resident’s needs and preferences. In charge of the roster for the kitchen staff. Checking orders for ingredients required for menu, daily or seasonal specials, functions and catering orders etc and ensuring that it keeps to a budget. Following correct labelling procedures and storing food in a safe and hygienic manner. Following procedures in relation to food handling, personal and general hygiene control in the hospitality industry. Relevant qualifications to at least Diploma level are required. In addition to the relevant qualification, we would want our Chef to have another 3 years of Chef experience. Ability to create menu ideas for customers with particular dietary and/or cultural food requirements, as well as organisation skills to manage a busy kitchen are essential. Salary is dependent upon experience and will be between $75,000 - $85,000 per annum plus superannuation.
