If so, this could be your next exciting opportunity About us Southside Racing operates high-class horse racing and training facilities at both Tynong and Cranbourne, as well as three, 7-day-a-week hospitality and entertainment venues – the Cardinia Club, Club Officer and Silks Cranbourne. These are a vital part of our business and allow us to provide our members with a wide range of hospitality and entertainment options. Opportunity Southside Racing is seeking a highly capable and motivated Human Resources Manager to lead our HR function and deliver the organisation’s people strategy. Reporting to the General Manager – Operations, this pivotal role will provide strategic and operational HR leadership across all Southside Racing sites, supporting leaders and staff through effective people management, compliance and engagement initiatives. The HR Manager will oversee all aspects of the employee lifecycle – including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, learning and development, WorkCover and policy governance – whilst fostering a culture that reflects Southside Racing’s values of Ambition, Excellence, Authenticity and Teamwork. Responsibilities Lead the HR Function – manage the day-to-day delivery of HR Services and provide direction to the HR team. Champion culture and engagement – drive initiatives that strengthen connection, recognition, and wellbeing across the organisation. Advise and support leaders – provide accurate and timely guidance on employee relations, performance management, and workplace investigations. Ensure compliance – interpret and apply the Fair Work Act, Awards and Enterprise Agreements. Attract and develop great people – oversee recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning to ensure Southside Racing has the capability to achieve its goals. Build capability – deliver training, performance reviews, and leadership development initiatives that empower managers and staff. Refine systems and policies – review and improve HR processes, policies, and reporting to ensure consistency, compliance and efficiency. Partner with leadership – collaborate with the GM Operations and Executive Team to align HR priorities with governance and budget frameworks. Qualifications and Experience Tertiary qualification in Human Resources, Business, or a related field. Minimum five years’ HR generalist or business partner experience, including leadership responsibilities. Sound knowledge of Fair Work legislation, Awards, and return-to-work obligations. Demonstrated ability to manage complex employee relations and WorkCover matters. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence at all levels. Experience in the hospitality, events or racing industry desirable, but not a must.
