Location: Sydney, Australia Salary Range: AUD 108,571 - 119,893 (Annual Gross) Please Note: The above salary range is only indicative and may be subject to suitable enhancements, based on internal company processes. Roles and Responsibilities: Expertise in RDBMS S/W installation, database server builds, applying patches, upgrading, configuring, trouble shooting of PostgreSQL. Expertise in Disaster Recovery plans by configuring Streaming Replication, Logical Replication, and utilizing backup and restore tools like pg Backrest or Barman. Implementing High Availability in PostgreSQL using tools like Patroni, repmgr, or Pacemaker with Streaming Replication. Expertise knowledge in database encryption methods for PostgreSQL. Expertise in database Back Up, Restore, Recovery, Updating statistics (VACUUM ANALYZE), Rebuilding and Reorganizing indexes (REINDEX, CLUSTER), Replication (Streaming and Logical), Foreign Data Wrappers, and routine maintenance tasks. Monitoring Instances, Configuring and Enabling alerts using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or other PostgreSQL monitoring solutions. Experience in query optimization and performance tuning. Experience in using EXPLAIN ANALYZE, pg_stat_statements, and system monitoring tools. Experience in Python, Bash, or other scripting languages to automate day-to-day activities and troubleshoot/enhance existing scripts. Monitoring/Troubleshooting Streaming Replication and Logical Replication setups. Respond to and troubleshoot database-related problems reported by customers. Preparing Knowledge articles and sharing with the team on day-to-day activities. Skill / Competencies / Experience: ESSENTIAL Tertiary Qualification in IT / Computer Science / related discipline PREFERRED Providing 24X7 Support and maintenance to all the Database Instances of OLTP/OLAP. ADDITIONAL Strong Communication & Management skills and, expertise in Onsite/offshore and Client coordination. Strong attention to detail and outstanding analytical and Problem-solving skills.
