Warehouse Team Leader

Purpose of the Role The Warehouse Team Leader plays a pivotal role in overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficient workflow, and coordinating transport logistics. This role requires strong supervisory, organizational skills, and a proactive approach to managing inventory, staff, and delivery schedules. The Team Leader will be responsible for maintaining high standards of safety, accuracy, and productivity while fostering a collaborative team environment. Key Responsibilities Workflow Management Supervise and coordinate daily warehouse activities including receiving, picking, packing, dispatching, and inventory control. Monitor and optimise warehouse layout and storage systems to ensure efficient material flow. Implement and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all warehouse functions. Assign tasks and monitor performance to ensure KPIs are met or exceeded. Conduct regular team briefings to communicate targets, updates, and safety protocols. Transport Logistics Scheduling & Allocation Plan and schedule outbound deliveries in coordination with transport providers and internal departments. Allocate transport resources based on delivery priorities, load capacities, and customer requirements. Liaise with freight companies and drivers to ensure timely pickups and deliveries. Track and resolve transport-related issues such as delays, damages, or documentation discrepancies. Maintain accurate records of transport schedules, manifests, and compliance documentation. Inventory & Systems Oversee stock accuracy through regular cycle counts and reconciliation. Ensure timely data entry and system updates using warehouse management software (Navision). Coordinate with procurement and internal teams to manage inbound and outbound stock levels. Team Supervision Lead, train, and mentor warehouse staff to build a high-performing team. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Education, Work Experience & Skills required, Personal Qualities Work Experience and Skills: 2‑3 years proven experience in warehouse operations and team leadership. Strong understanding of logistics, transport scheduling, and inventory systems. Proficiency in WMS and Microsoft Office Suite. Licences & Qualifications Current NSW/VIC Driver’s License.
