To support this next horizon of growth, we are seeking an exceptional Manager, AI Strategy & Delivery to shape, govern and drive the enterprise AI agenda. The Opportunity Reporting to a senior digital leader, you will lead the development, execution and governance of the organisation’s AI roadmap. Your remit spans strategy, delivery, guardrails, adoption, literacy and benefits realisation. You’ll play a pivotal role in identifying high-value AI opportunities, embedding Responsible AI practices, and uplifting organisational readiness — ensuring the organisation benefits meaningfully from both classical ML and emerging GenAI capabilities. This is a role for an AI leader who can confidently move between board-level strategy, enterprise governance, and hands‑on delivery leadership. Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: Define and evolve the enterprise AI roadmap, ensuring alignment to strategic priorities and measurable business value. Identify and evaluate AI opportunities across business units, maximising value from emerging technologies. Establish and chair AI governance forums, setting standards for model risk, evaluation, approval processes and Responsible AI. Lead delivery of priority AI services — including GenAI assistants and ML models — partnering closely with Data Science, Digital Innovation and engineering squads. Develop and enforce MLOps standards (feature stores, CI/CD, observability, rollback, registries). Lead AI literacy uplift through training pathways, communities of practice, enablement playbooks and safe‑use guidance. Embed Responsible AI controls (privacy, fairness, safety, transparency) in partnership with Legal, Risk and Data Governance. Ensure certified datasets, semantic models, lineage management and data quality underpin all AI development. Oversee commercial relationships with cloud providers, AI vendors and delivery partners; optimise cost, value and outcomes. Report progress, risks, adoption and value realisation to senior leadership through structured insights and dashboards. Champion reuse of prompts, features, evaluation suites and shared patterns to accelerate time‑to‑value and improve quality. To thrive, you’ll be comfortable navigating: Balancing rapid experimentation with Responsible AI guardrails and regulatory expectations. Driving organisational change across stakeholders with varying levels of AI maturity. Ensuring enterprise data readiness — quality, lineage, access — to support scalable AI. Preventing tool and vendor fragmentation in a complex landscape. Competing for scarce AI/ML talent in a fast‑moving market. Key Relationships You will partner closely with:Internal: Data Governance, Data Science & Engineering, Digital Innovation, Senior Leaders, Board-level committees.External: Cloud providers, AI vendors, delivery partners, and relevant regulatory or industry bodies. About You You will bring a blend of strategic leadership, delivery discipline and deep domain expertise, including: 7+ years in applied AI/ML, with at least 3 years leading cross‑functional delivery across both GenAI and classical ML. Strong hands‑on familiarity with MLOps practices and modern data platforms on Azure, AWS or GCP. A proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and translate technical concepts into business‑aligned decisions. Experience designing and enforcing AI guardrails, ensuring safety, fairness, explainability and compliance. Demonstrated success in organisational enablement — scaling literacy, communities of practice and enterprise adoption. Strong vendor management capability and experience optimising commercial outcomes. Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering or a related field.
