Senior Clinical Psychologist – Grade 3 (Specialist Medical Inpatient Services) Location: Multiple Western Health sites Employment Type: Part-Time (30.4 hours/week), Ongoing Salary: Grade 3 + Superannuation + Salary Packaging About the role We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our Specialist Medical Inpatient Services team. The service provides consultancy to acute general medical and surgical units, coronary care and sub‑specialty medical and surgical services. Key responsibilities Provide best care to patients in a dynamic multidisciplinary setting. Collaborate with other psychologists including Neuropsychology, Health Psychology, and Clinical Psychology within the Specialist Medical Inpatient Service. Deliver evidence‑based practice and contribute to holistic patient‑centred care. Provide leadership and strategic direction within the team, including supervising early‑career Psychologists. Participate in research and quality improvement activities. Receive supervision from Grade 4 Psychologists and support clinical, leadership, supervision, and research skill development. Contribute to education and training programs in partnership with the Psychology Education Team. About you Have a passion for working with clients with complex and chronic health conditions. Commit to an evidence‑based, best‑practice culture that supports continuous service improvement. Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ensure safe and high‑quality patient care in line with Western Health values and policies. Think quickly and broadly while triaging new referrals. Use your full spectrum of psychological training and expertise to assess clients’ psychological needs. Effectively liaise with the treating team and relevant parties. Contribute personally to positive team culture. Apply flexibility, creativity, and enthusiasm to initiatives for ongoing improvement. Maintain calm and stability when working with clients with complex health conditions in diverse and dynamic settings.
