Tuberculosis Coordinator – Location Negotiable within Southern NSW Local Health District Join NSW Health as the Tuberculosis Coordinator and play a crucial role in providing person‑centred specialist nursing care at an advanced practice level for TB patients in Southern NSW. This position is a permanent full‑time role negotiable within the Southern New South Wales Local Health District. Employment type : Permanent Full‑Time Location : Negotiable within Southern New South Wales Local Health District Position classification : Dependent on qualifications – Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 or Registered Nurse Remuneration for Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2 : $116,639.98 – $120,469.88 per annum Remuneration for Registered Nurse : $74,317.93 – $104,336.26 per annum Hours per week : 38 Application close : 5 January 2026 Interviews will be scheduled within 10 days of the closing date About The Service The Tuberculosis Care Nurse delivers best‑practice, person‑centred specialist nursing care for TB patients. Responsibilities include ensuring consistent practice for high‑risk patient assessment, care planning, referral and coordination of LHD TB clinics with tertiary providers and general practitioners. The role provides flexible, quality TB management and treatment services at an advanced practice level. Additional Information Open to Registered Nurses with a minimum of 3 years experience or Clinical Nurse Specialists Grade 1 aspiring to a Grade 2 position. Successful applicants must complete their BCG and TST qualifications; the cost of completion is the applicant’s responsibility. Selection Criteria Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse, with post‑registration qualifications in infection control, public or primary community health, and a minimum of three years’ experience in the clinical area. Must hold or be willing to obtain a NSW TB Service accreditation to administer tuberculin skin testing (TST) and Bacillus Calmette‑Guérin (BCG) vaccinations. Demonstrated competence and knowledge of providing specialist nursing care within a multidisciplinary team. Ability to exercise extended autonomy in clinical decision‑making and leadership in the development of nursing specialty practice. Effective clinical communication through technology, written and verbal means, and strong interpersonal skills. Application of evidence‑based practice and critical thinking to advocate for and implement individualised person‑centred care, with a commitment to quality improvement. Ability to supervise, delegate and negotiate to deliver quality nursing care, embracing leadership and change in coordination and delivery of care. Evidence of ongoing professional development and maintaining competence as an authorised nurse immuniser. Current unrestricted driver’s licence and willingness to travel as required, including long distances and overnight stays.
