Rail Systems Modelling Analyst role supporting V/Line’s rail network planning with advanced modelling and data analysis. Your Role Key responsibilities include: Acquiring skills to support the design of strategic service plans (timetables). Collecting, cleansing, and analysing operational data for decision-making. Assisting in building and validating rail network infrastructure models using software like RailSys. Contributing to the development of mathematical methods and costing models. Conducting scenario testing for infrastructure enhancements and operational plans. Identifying solutions to enhance processes and reduce costs. Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to enhance the rail network. About You The company is looking for: Demonstrable quantitative analysis experience. Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Suite and data visualisation tools. Project planning and management experience in a complex operational environment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to navigate complex and politically sensitive environments. High resilience to meet tight deadlines. Proactive in identifying issues and suggesting resolutions. Alignment with V/Line’s values of responsiveness, integrity, impartiality, accountability, respect, leadership, and human rights. Highly regarded: Tertiary qualification in Science, Statistics, Mathematics or Engineering (STEM).
