Amazing Innovative Program Host in Riverstone We are looking for an amazing local person to host our innovative health program aimed at improving the quality of life for older Australians. Australia has an ageing population, that means the percentage of Australians over the age of 65 is due to exceed 30% and in Blacktown this is closer to 40%. This situation puts an enormous stress on our health care system. The number of GP's is reducing, and specialist care is costly with long waiting lists. We believe we can do something about this And if you are interested in helping, we would love to talk to you. Live Life Get Active is a health promotion charity and for over 10 years we have worked in communities offering programs to improve health and happiness. We’ve worked with over 100,000 people improving not only their health risk but also their health literacy. We believe that if people are treated with respect and given the know-how, they can significantly improve their quality of life. The program we would like you to host is called Live Younger Longer. It’s about active ageing. It’s about bringing specialists into communities to show people how they can improve their enjoyment of life, increase their energy and motivation and very importantly stay out of hospital and out of aged care. Your role is pivotal as you will be the face of the program. You’re the person who is there for everyone each day showing both warmth and care. You listen; you get to know each person and call them by their name. You help people feel safe, valued and capable. You will work closely with an exercise physiologist, a dietitian and a clinical psychologist, so you will learn a lot The program runs for 6 months. There are 2 sessions per week and these run for approximately 2 hours each. What You’ll Do Welcome and engage participants (aged 65+) with warmth and confidence. Take an electronic roll call of attendees and note those who have not attended. Set up and manage the program tech each week. This is a ZOOM session and includes: Connecting your laptop to projectors, microphones, speakers, and screens. Connecting remote presenters to the room (training provided). Take the lead: Run short welcome messages, announcements, and prize giveaways. Support the session by managing attendance, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring everything runs smoothly. Capture the moment. Take clear, engaging photos each week (on your phone is fine). Report back key outcomes and observations via a simple weekly form. Contribute to promotion (e.g., local notice boards, community groups) if required. Who You Are Confident, warm, and great with people of all ages—especially older adults. Organised, reliable, and comfortable managing a large group of people. Tech-savvy: confident with Zoom, projectors, sound equipment, and laptops (training provided). Comfortable speaking in front of a large group. Happy to roll up your sleeves to help with light physical tasks (setting up chairs, equipment). You may have a background in events, community work, teaching, nursing, customer service, or hospitality. You will be confident working with large groups of people. What You’ll Get Up to $80 per hour inc super approximately 4 hours per week x 26 weeks. Full training and support from our national team to understand the program, its objectives and what it has achieved in other communities to date.
