Overview Senior Engineer - Quality Engineering role at Slalom. Senior Engineer - Quality Engineering Slalom_build’s Quality Engineering (QE) capability brings a modern approach to software quality, playing a critical role in high-velocity software engineering teams. We work with current and emerging tools and techniques to help build reliable, scalable software. Our QE practice enables whole-team ownership of quality, close proximity of software development and test activities, and reliable, scalable test automation. We work in cross-functional teams to build full-stack solutions across a range of established and emerging technologies and techniques. Our QE Core Principles: We believe in a whole team ownership of quality We believe Quality Engineers empower teams by bringing a focus on quality We believe in the benefit of close proximity between development and test activities We believe automation is critical for high-quality, high-velocity delivery What You Will Do Perform exploratory testing on product builds alongside the team and our customers Implement and evolve automation frameworks; drive increased test automation coverage across projects Develop appropriate testing strategies for small to medium-sized projects Produce test status reports and quality metrics Facilitate defect triage and guide overall defect resolution processes Conduct test reviews and support requirements traceability and test coverage mapping Help the team prioritise and execute testing activities aligned to the test pyramid Assist teams in setting quality goals and defining acceptance criteria Contribute to data migration testing, planning and execution when applicable What You Will Bring 5+ years of professional testing experience, including Agile delivery (e.g., Scrum) Experience across the full software development lifecycle Proven ability to embed quality practices early in the lifecycle (Shift Left) and maintain quality post-release (Shift Right) Strong advocacy for shared quality ownership across disciplines 2+ years of hands-on coding experience in one or more of the following: C#, Java, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Kotlin, or Swift Solid experience in automation testing, including UI test automation API/service/contract testing Data test automation Proficiency in SQL and working with data for validation Bonus: Monitoring or maintaining system quality in production environments Experience in Data migration testing Experience using data tools like: dbt/ elementary Bonus Experience (Nice To Have) Data migration testing Unit and integration testing Performance and load testing DevOps/build engineering knowledge Application security testing Custom test tool development Mobile app test automation Project management or Scrum Mastery Business analysis and consulting background Our Values Our culture and values reflect each individual Builder.
