MoVida is a Spanish Tapas restaurant that has three venues in the Melbourne CBD and are run by Executive Chef Frank Camorra, who pioneered Spanish Cuisine in Melbourne. MoVida offers both modern and traditional Spanish food, in a warm and casual environment with professional service. We have a full time position for a 1st or 2nd Year Apprentice Chef available at our original venue at 1 Hosier Lane Melbourne. This is an entry level position so we are open to applicants who have not yet started an apprenticeship. MoVida venues do trade across seven days a week so you may be required to work weekends, we do however ensure that our team has two consecutive days off each week. Skills & Experience Ability to work well under pressure Have initiative and be self motivated Responsibilities Assist with organising & preparing food Use methods of cookery as shown by the Chef and through formal studies Prepare food items in accordance with menu requirements using standard recipes and production methods as directed by the Chef Assist food production as directed by the Chef Ensure smooth work flow Assist receipt of delivery of supplies with Chef supervision Clean and maintain kitchen Actively observe, learn and practice commercial cookery as per requirements of apprenticeship We offer continued training, career progression, competitive salary rates and job security.
