The Opportunity We're hiring an Operations Supervisor to take day-to-day control of our collection operations. You'll lead drivers and yard teams, keep the fleet moving safely and on schedule, and drive continuous improvement across service delivery, client outcomes, and team performance. This Role Is NOT a Desk Job. We're looking for an Operations Supervisor who leads from the front. You will be in trucks doing runs regularly , filling in for drivers, solving problems on the road, and keeping the daily operation tight. If you don't like getting your hands dirty, this won't be your jam. What You'll Be Doing (On-Road + Supervisory) Drive trucks and complete runs weekly (fill-ins, overflow, high-priority services) Lead drivers and yard staff with clear standards and daily direction Ensure runs are executed safely, efficiently, and on time Fix problems in real time: missed services, breakdowns, access issues, contamination Run pre-starts, toolbox talks, and safety checks Coach drivers on performance, customer interaction, and truck care Monitor route efficiency and service quality Coordinate fleet defects, maintenance priorities, and bin damage/loss Work closely with Customer Service + Sales to deliver a tight client handover Drive simple, practical improvements that reduce downtime and missed services What We're Looking For Experience supervising transport/logistics/field operations Minimum 3-5 years of supervisory experience in transport, logistics, or field operations Happy to be on the road and in a truck regularly Leadership style: firm, fair, consistent, and hands-on Strong safety discipline and calm decision-making under pressure Can read a run sheet, manage changes fast, and keep service moving Waste/recycling industry experience is great — not essential HR licence is a requirement Current Heavy Rigid (HR) licence is required Australian work rights are required for this position.
