Position Overview DXC Technology is seeking an OSI PI Historian Engineer to join its OT / Digital Systems team in Perth. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining and optimizing the OSIsoft PI System for varied clients / projects, ensuring high availability of operational data and assisting in delivering insight from this data to operations engineering and IT stakeholders. The role bridges operations technology and information technology. Key Responsibilities Set up, configure and manage core OSI PI components: PI Data Archive, PI Asset Framework (AF), interfaces / connectors to SCADA, DCS, PLCs, OPC, MQTT, etc. PI Vision or other visualization tools. Develop and maintain AF templates, event frames, analytical calculations and dashboards to support operations, maintenance and asset performance. Ensure data integrity, reliability, performance and system health (health checks, backups, interface uptime). Troubleshoot data flow issues, latency, missing data and interface failures and coordinate resolution with OT and IT teams. Support integration of PI with enterprise systems (ERP, MES, Data Lakes) where needed. Work with cross‑functional teams to understand data needs and ensure PI system supports operational decision making. Develop documentation, standard operating procedures and best‑practice guidelines. Plan and manage upgrades, patches, security and compliance. Required Skills & Qualifications Degree in Engineering / Computer Science / Information Systems or equivalent. Several years of hands‑on experience with OSI PI system administration and development (including PI AF, PI Vision and interfaces). Strong understanding of industrial networks / protocols (OPC, Modbus, MQTT, etc.). Windows Server / networking knowledge. Ability to troubleshoot complex issues; strong analytical problem‑solving skills. Clear communication skills; ability to liaise with operations, engineering & IT stakeholders. Desirable / Nice to Have Experience working in mining, utilities, oil & gas or similar heavy‑industry sectors common in WA. Scripting / automation skills (PowerShell, Python, SQL). Experience integrating PI with cloud or data analytics platforms. PI System certifications or vendor training (AVEVA / OSIsoft).
