DS Nursing Assistant - Caulfield at Australian Red Cross Lifeblood Permanent part‑time opportunity – 60 hours per fortnight across 9 shifts with a rotating roster from Monday to Sunday, based at Caulfield Donor Centre, Victoria. About the role Step into a rewarding role as a Nursing Assistant where you will bring excellent customer‑facing skills and a genuine passion to deliver an exceptional service to our donors. You will play a key role in supporting our donors through their donation process. Full training is provided, so all you need is the curiosity and motivation to learn the process of collecting blood and biological product. Key responsibilities include: Greet and interview potential donors to assess eligibility and suitability to donate Create a positive donor experience and encourage repeat visits Perform routine blood‑pressure and haemoglobin tests Set up machines and collection equipment Safely insert and remove needles to collect whole blood, plasma and platelets Monitor donors post‑donation and assist with re‑booking future donations Work collaboratively to achieve collection targets Your skills in action Customer‑facing experience to create positive, welcoming interactions Comfortable with needles and blood/biological materials Occasional lifting up to 22.7 kg Support and foster a fantastic team culture Stand, walk and bend frequently to set up and pack down machines and blood products Flexibility to work varied shifts on a fortnightly rotating roster, including weekends and afternoon shifts Benefits and wellbeing Minimum 5 weeks annual leave (up to 6 weeks) Salary packaging options – up to $15,900 for living expenses and $2,650 for meals and entertainment 14 weeks paid parental leave with no waiting period for either parent Employee assistance program – Sonder, available 24/7 via mobile app Other benefits and wellbeing initiatives Apply now to become part of Lifeblood’s life‑giving mission.
