Growth: Gain valuable experience in both primary and secondary settings Job Description Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) play a unique role in a Catholic school, supporting teachers to ensure each child grows academically and spiritually. Supported by the Catholic community, LSAs support teachers in inviting students and their families into a faith‑filled educational experience. LSAs promote the school as a place of learning and excellence, nurturing creativity and curiosity, and connecting students with their world through deep learning and engagement. Under the direction of teachers, LSAs provide support in school routines, classroom activities, and the care of students with disability. Desired Skills and Experience Ability to articulate a clear understanding of and personal commitment to Catholic education and the mission of the Church. Experience working with students with disability (K‑12). Demonstrated ability to work under the direction of a teacher and collaborate with school staff, CSO staff, and external stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to effectively administer assessments and deliver interventions under a teacher’s direction. Demonstrated ability to implement adjustments required for individual students and groups. Experience in supporting student enrolment and transitions under a teacher’s direction. Knowledge of relevant Disability legislation and the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data. Evidence of excellent organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills. Qualifications Current paid NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) number. Completion of anaphylaxis training. Certificate III or IV in School Based Education Support, or experience in schools (desirable). Conditions of Employment Salary is in accordance with New South Wales & Australian Capital Territory Catholic Systemic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2023.
