About The Role As the Schools Officer, Grounds and Facilities, you will play a vital role in maintaining the school’s facilities and grounds to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. Reporting directly to the Principal, Business Manager, or a nominated delegate, you will have the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively to support the school’s operations. Key Responsibilities Perform day‑to‑day tasks such as delivering and collecting mail, setting up classrooms or halls for events, and managing school supplies and equipment. Maintain the school grounds, including mowing, gardening, and general upkeep of outdoor areas and sporting facilities. Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety requirements, including safe storage and handling of chemicals and equipment maintenance. Attend to or arrange repairs and maintenance of school facilities, furniture, and equipment, including basic maintenance tasks. Support school events by assisting with setup and cleanup, and ensuring the school environment is well‑maintained and secure. About You Experience in grounds and facilities maintenance or a similar role. Knowledge of workplace health and safety practices, including safe handling of chemicals and equipment. Strong organisational and time‑management skills to handle a variety of tasks efficiently. Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with staff, students, and external contractors. A proactive and self‑motivated approach to work, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
