Our client is a automotive repair for over 20 years, a growing, family-owned business expanding its footprint in the automotive repair industry. The workshop is fully equipped with advanced diagnostic tools and is conveniently located within walking distance of VicRoads Ringwood. About the Role Our Client is seeking a Automotive Motor Mechanic to take on the role of Senior Technician and oversee the day-to-day management of its Ringwood workshop. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong technical skills and the ability to run workshop operations efficiently and independently. Key Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of the workshop. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using visual inspections, diagnostic scanners, and manual tools. Dismantle and inspect vehicle components such as engines, transmissions, suspensions, and steering systems. Repair or replace faulty parts, reassemble mechanical systems, and consult technical manuals when needed. Perform scheduled logbook services including oil changes, lubrication, and safety inspections. Conduct emissions compliance checks to meet regulatory standards. Reinstall engines and components to full functionality after repairs. Test and fine-tune vehicle systems post-repair to ensure performance standards are met. Use computerized systems to assess the functionality of vehicle parts and troubleshoot issues. Carry out visual roadworthy checks and provide recommendations for any non-compliant vehicles. Maintain a clean and organized workshop environment. Ensure timely vehicle turnaround and maintain efficient time management. Clean vehicles prior to customer pick-up when necessary. Candidate Profile Required Skills & Experience Fully qualified Automotive Motor Mechanic. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the automotive repair industry. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills across all makes and models. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Must be able to work independently and under pressure. Current, full driver's license is essential. Ability to manage a team and lead workshop operations. LVT (Licensed Vehicle Tester) accreditation.
