Early Childhood Educator - Kindergarten Assistant ) Department: Family and Community Services Employment type: Temporary Part Time Why you'll love the role: We are seeking a Diploma qualified, Early Childhood Educator to support and assist the Kindergarten Teacher in the delivery of an educational program and a range of quality early childhood experiences to eligible children in the year prior to school entry at Audrey Brooks Memorial Pre-School, Bellfield. This role will also ensure the care and education program aligns with the Early Childhood Services Philosophy. You’ll ensure a child-safe environment and contribute to a culture of child safety by fulfilling the responsibilities and requirements of Council’s Child Safe Policy and procedures. What you’ll do: Assist the Early Childhood Teacher Degree in implementing an early childhood educational program and a range of early childhood experiences. Assist in the implementation of a program which is appropriate to the developmental needs and interests of the children attending the service. Assist in the preparation and delivery of the children’s educational program. Assist in developing good relationships and effective communication between families and the kindergarten. The days and hours for this position are required to be worked Tuesday - Friday 5 hrs per day/20 hours per week. What you'll bring - skills, experience and certificates: Early Childhood Qualification as recognised under Education and Care Services National Regulations 2011 – Diploma. Knowledge of the National Quality Framework, Education and Care Services National Law Act (2010), Education and Care Services National Regulations (2011) and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework. Current, recognised Level 2 First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Certificates, with CPR updates completed in the last 12 months. Awareness of cultural needs of families. Effective communication with families, professionals, and people from diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. Conflict management skills. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment. Mandatory Pre-employment screenings: Qualifications and certificates as above. Mandatory reporting certificate. Pre-employment medical. Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check (NCCHC – previously called a police check). Working with Children’s Check. We offer: Salary in the range $37,781.19 to $40,027.51 per annum plus super (for comparison at full time this is $71,285.28 to $75,523.62 per annum plus super).
